269 people finally signed a petition to ban the destruction of medical waste in Rodoč by MVVM doo, and the signatures of legal entities were joined by the Mostar Fair, Promark, Soko Aviation, MO GIPS d.o.o. and STEL d.o.o. All of them demand that the company for disposal of medical waste be removed from the “Sokol” circle, due to an unbearable stench.

The MVVM claims that there are no unpleasant odours, and "the experience is like at the dentist's".

MVVM in the area of the former 'Sokol' takes care of infectious categories of medical waste (180101, 180103, 180104) which it takes over from SKB Mostar.

Businessmen from the 'Sokol' area believe that this activity has no place among companies, and the companies Ćićak d.o.o., Ditrix d.o.o., Fenster System d.o.o., Ferro - Keš d.o.o., Melcom d.o.o., NIZ d.o.o., Prisika d.o.o., Soko rashladna i klima tehnika d.o.o., Zec d.o.o., Europrofil Mostar, Indirect Taxation Authority, Lorenčić d.o.o., Restaurant “Kogo”, Ivigo d.o.o., Energy d.o.o, O.Š. Rodoč ('Bartol Kašić'), SUM Mostar, barracks 'Stanislav Baja Kraljević', and the above, have all signed it.

The city inspectorate went to the scene. The signatories of the petition and the request for action claim that they cleaned and stopped the work at the MVVM for two days, and that they expected the inspection. The city inspection did not find any irregularities.

“On February 15, 2022. At the request of the local community Rodoč, the sanitary inspector was located in the industrial zone Soko-Rodoč in the case - the company MVVM d.o.o. Mostar, that the same endanger the environment and human health through irresponsible actions.

During the inspection in the period from 10:00 to 11:30, the inspector determined the following: The said company has an environmental permit number UPI-05 / 2-23-11-88 / 18 dated 26 June 2018. issued by the Federal Ministry of the Environment. This solution specifies the method of operation, description of the technological process and monitoring of wastewater quality monitoring. The results of the conducted analyzes are sent to the competent ministry. The inspector determined that the procedure of work according to the decision was followed. The sterilization process itself is performed in a sterilizer that forms a closed system with a purifier. Municipal waste as a result of the sterilization process is in the form of powder, it is sterile and as such is treated as municipal waste. The sterilizer itself is under constant control of temperature parameters and all other factors.

During operation, the sterilizer does not emit any gases or odours, so there is no odour in the hall, except the smell of disinfectants that disinfect the bins. The hall has an area of 800m2 and has all the necessary space and equipment for this activity. The inspector determined that it is only infectious, and not pathological waste. Personnel employed in the same jobs have the prescribed protective equipment. The inspector also carried out an inspection in the evening (20:30) the next morning (5:45), according to the applicants, that work was done in the early morning. I walked around 100m around the hall and no smells were felt. The said company was not operating at the time of the inspection. I would like to mention that there are no settlements nearby, so there are no dangers to human health, so that the said facility does not pose a risk to the health of the residents of Rodoča ", the city inspection replied.

The signatories of the petition claim that the city inspection came after the MVVM did not work for two days, and was cleaned, so they called the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs. And their inspectors are in the “Sokol” circle today.

The signatories of the petition complain about the unbearable stench, headaches and vomiting. We felt it ourselves, and returned to the newsroom with a headache. Let us remind you that locals and businessmen are the signatories of the request for a ban on the disposal of medical waste in the Free Zone Herzegovina Mostar. They want this company from the “Sokol” circle to move.

From the company MVVM, which, according to the register of business entities in BiH, the founders are Dalibor Buhač, Valentina Jerkić and Kata Leko, who is also the director, say that everything is according to regulations, that it does not stink, and it feels like at the dentist.

However, according to internal information, some workers have already given up working in this company, precisely because of the unbearable stench. At the time of writing, the federal inspector is still at the MVVM premises.
